Our Story
Marigolds is an endeavor truly born from opportunity meeting preparedness. Anika had previously interned at her local flower shop before landing her first gig in the art department for TV/Film. After several years of managing Art and Set Dec departments she designed florals for her first film and never looked back. Finding roots in Astoria didn't take much thought being that Anika has lived in Astoria for close to a decade and found community amongst neighbors and local businesses. It just took finding the right location which is how our first studio location came to be. Nestled sweetly on 26th street close to the Astoria-Ditmars stop, Anika can be found designing or more likely, cleaning her quaint floral studio.
Our Philosophy
Our philosophy on design is creating beauty on every budget. Astoria is and always will be a neighborhood proudly represented by diversity and the working class which is why we always make sure whatever we create aligns with our community and what they want. This translates directly to our wedding clients and how we choose to collaborate with couples. We offer design concepts at different price point and proudly work with our client to create something memorable to backdrop their day. Using locally sourced, in-season product we try to support our local wholesalers and farmers as much as possible while incorporating sustainable practices like chicken wire mechanics and composting to reduce our waste and carbon footprint.

Marigolds Florals is led by a designer focused on craftsmanship, detail, and thoughtful design. Each arrangement is shaped by hands-on experience, a strong creative perspective, and an understanding of how flowers come together.
From sourcing stems to arranging each bouquet by hand, every piece is made with care and intention — designed to look clean, cohesive, and considered.

Anika Maram
CREATIVE DIRECTOR/PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
Anika is a creature of habit and can often be found at Astoria Park walking her dog Rosie or noshing on the Chicken Pot Pie from The Bonnie. She brings over 8 years of experience from her time in TV/Film to her game which provides her with a unique perspective on floral design. When she’s not nestled over her countertop trying to make stems stay put in a flower frog she can be found geeking out over Rosalia’s Berghain performance at the Brit Awards. Don’t ask her about it. -
Christian Nazario
FLORAL ASSOCIATE DESIGNER
Christian Nazario is a New York–based creative and visual storyteller with an eye for capturing life’s in-between moments. Alongside his cross stitching, he works as an assistant florist with Anika, bringing the same thoughtful attention and artistry to floral design as he does behind the camera. Whether through blooms or imagery, his work reflects warmth, intention, and a love for honest, everyday beauty.
